During a consultation with one of the highly experienced doctors or nurses in our menopause clinic, we’ll discuss a range of evidence-based solutions to help you control your symptoms, and we’ll help you decide which ones are most suited to you.
Menopause care is not one-size-fits-all – the best type of treatment for you will depend on your unique circumstances. That’s why we always start a consultation spending time really getting to know you.
We believe in taking a holistic approach to help you take control of your menopause symptoms. We’ll look at everything from HRT and other medicinal options, to lifestyle (e.g. nutrition, fitness), sex and relationship counselling, CBT, and coaching.
It may be that we’ll create a treatment plan with you that combines multiple approaches. Whatever the approach – it’ll be the one that you choose and the one that’s right for you. Below we’ve outlined some of the most common menopause treatment options.
For most women, HRT is an effective way of managing menopause symptoms. It also provides long-term health benefits, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and, for many, heart disease. We’ll talk to you about HRT, explain the benefits and risks as they apply to you, and help dispel any myths.
However, some women will prefer not to take HRT and others will not be able to take it for medical reasons. There are alternative treatments available and these will be discussed on an individual basis during your consultation.

Where alternative prescribable medicines are known to be helpful in the menopause, we will explain them to you and can prescribe what you need. Learn more about menopause treatment options.
We recognise that life can be busy, sometimes complicated and often stressful. And we understand the impact that lifestyle, home, and work can have on menopause symptoms – and how menopause symptoms can impact love, life, and work.
Sorting these issues often needs a multipronged, holistic approach to help you to take control of your symptoms and thrive.
That’s why we’ve brought together a team of experts and specialists to help you manage your symptoms and achieve your goals. We’ve made our service available online to make it accessible to all women across the UK.
We will always be by your side to provide ongoing support for as long as you need us because we know your needs can change throughout your menopause transition.
Knowledge is power. We can empower you to take control of your menopause by increasing your understanding of how you are feeling.
Dr Clare Spencer, Co-Founder of My Menopause Centre
We believe in the power of exercise – and the evidence demonstrates the benefits. We know it can be difficult to get motivated when you may be feeling tired and worn out but it can be a real game-changer.
Exercising is easier when you have someone to encourage and motivate you. This is why we have teamed up with our friends at Her Spirit who offers support and community through exercise and sport.
Diet and nutrition play a key part in health – including how you feel, weight management, and reducing long-term health risks associated with menopause. Working with a nutritionist or dietician can help you look at your current diet and switch to a way of eating that will help with wellbeing.
You can learn more about the services offered by our nutritionist partner, Joanne Bolger, here.
Menopause can significantly impact your sex drive and relationships. As well as HRT (including testosterone and vaginal oestrogens with this), you may need support in getting your relationship back on track.
We can help by offering sex and relationship counselling from an experienced and highly qualified therapist, Sue Makin. Find out more here.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can help challenge unhelpful thought processes that can lead to a vicious cycle of negative thinking and behaviour.
We can offer therapy that targets menopause symptoms to help you move forward positively through both Sue and our partner Claire Lloyd.
Coaching can help you to appraise your life, make changes where needed, and help you move forward positively while minimising stress. We have teamed up with Kate Hesk and her team at Cognomie to support you in leading your best life.
Because we are an online service, we cannot offer face-to-face appointments for examinations or Mirena™ coil fitting. If your condition needs a physical examination, we will refer you back to your GP or another appropriate doctor.

If you think you may be experiencing symptoms of the menopause transition, you can learn more with our symptom checker or by taking our Menopause Questionnaire.
