Dr Gabriella Smee is a GP with a special interest in women’s health and menopause care. She graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the London school of medicine in 2010. She went on to pursue her career in general practice and completed GP training in 2015 working in a variety of settings. Within primary care, she became a strong advocate in the field of women’s health and currently runs women’s health clinics dedicating herself to supporting women of all backgrounds through different stages of their lives within a busy GP practice in a diverse multiethnic area.
She is a member of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (FSRH), an experienced fitter of all contraceptive methods and a diplomate of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Dr Gabriella is a proud British Menopause Society (BMS) member and is passionate about improving access to menopause care for all women. She has delivered education to GP trainees, primary care clinicians and local psychological therapy services in order to raise awareness of the difficulties women face during menopause, and to show the positive effect recognising the symptoms and offering individualised treatment can bring to women’s lives. Dr Gabriella also works in a voluntary role as part of a menopause task force for the FSRH, creating further educational materials to improve knowledge of the challenges women going through the menopause experience, how wide reaching this can be and what evidence-based treatments can be offered to help.
Above all, she believes in listening to women, providing empathetic support for the issues they are going through, and drawing on her experience to provide holistic care to smooth the menopause transition and make it as positive an experience as possible.
