Knowledge is power: it’s good to be aware of other, alternative ways of managing the different symptoms of the menopause transition. Hypnotherapy is one of them.
While HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) can be an effective way of managing symptoms of the menopause for many women, some prefer not to take it, some will experience side effects and others may have been advised that HRT is too risky for them. For others yet, HRT helps to some extent, but may not take away all of the symptoms experienced.
Knowledge is power
It’s good to be aware of other, alternative ways of managing the different symptoms of the menopause transition. Hypnotherapy is one of them. Dr Clare is a registered menopause specialist and an NHS GP. She qualified from Cambridge University and holds Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She initially trained in obstetrics and gynaecology where she gained a Doctor of Medicine for research in fetomaternal medicine. She is also a member of the British Menopause Society (BMS) Medical Advisory Committee and a BMS menopause trainer.

Nicole Valens was awarded an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Hypnotherapy in 2015, when she set up a successful private hypnotherapy practice, specialising in treating anxiety and trauma.
She has an MA in Social Work and has been trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and CBT. She has been a mental health professional for 15 years, working with people suffering complex and enduring mental health issues.
Nicole is an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society. She has published several articles on hypnotherapy.
She has been awarded the Prestige Awards Counselling Service of the Year (London and South East) and the SME News UK Enterprise Award for Best Hypnotherapy Service in Greater London.
