Show Your Heart Some Love: Preventing Cardiovascular Disease In The Menopause

This event has finished

Many of us believe the greatest risk to our health is breast cancer but women in the UK are actually around twice as likely to die from cardiovascular disease (CVD). Our risk increases after the menopause when we experience changes to blood vessels, cholesterol, and blood pressure, all of which are risk factors for CVD.

That’s why the theme for this year’s World Menopause Day, on October 18th, is CVD.

But it isn’t all doom and gloom – there’s lots we can do to protect ourselves.

So join us and a panel of experts at our FREE event ‘Show Your Heart Some Love: Preventing Cardiovascular Disease In The Menopause’ on Tuesday 17th October at 7.30pm.

In the session dietician Nigel Denby, founder of Harley Street at Home, fitness guru Melanie Berry, co-founder of wellbeing and fitness platform Her Spirit and My Menopause Centre’s Dr Clare Spencer will discuss:

  • why our CVD risk increases post-menopause
  • the signs of CVD in women and how they differ from men
  • how to boost your heart health from what you eat to the exercise you do
  • the role HRT plays in heart health for women in the menopause transition
  • tips and advice on how to manage existing heart conditions

There will also be time for your questions.

We look forward to seeing you there!
