Dr Manisha Singh
MBBS, MD, MRCOG, FFSRH

‘I am delighted to become a part of the wonderful team at My Menopause Centre and to support women on their menopause journey. Menopause can present with a myriad of symptoms, often catching women unaware and at a time when many are juggling their responsibilities at work and home and often ageing relatives. This can leave women feeling overwhelmed, alone and anxious. While 51% of the world population will go through menopause, how little people talk about it and the lack of awareness is astounding!  This lack of awareness is even more so within ethnic minority communities where difficulties in accessing menopause care are further compounded by cultural beliefs and language barriers. My intimate understanding of Asian culture and fluency in Hindi and Urdu helps me to establish rapport with women from this background and I hope to ease their access to menopause care’

Dr Manisha Singh

Dr Manisha Singh is a Consultant in Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) and Community Gynaecology with over 13 years of experience as the Lead Clinician and NHS Consultant. She is passionate about all aspects of women’s health through all life stages and the menopause in particular.

She has been a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since 1998 and is also a Fellow of the Faculty of SRH. She is active in teaching and training and regularly organises and chairs regional training days and meetings. She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds Medical school and is the Training Programme Director for postgraduate training and is incredibly proud of being a part of shaping the future consultant workforce in community SRH. She is a Council member at the Faculty of SRH and has other responsible Faculty roles.

Within her NHS Consultant role, Dr Manisha focuses on women’s health and complex contraception and is responsible for clinical supervision and governance as well as assuring high standard, evidence-based clinical care. Dr Manisha has experience in the different, often unrecognisable ways menopause can present, the negative impact this can have and the life-changing benefits of tailored and collaborative clinical management. She feels strongly about raising menopause awareness and easing access to holistic and empathetic care.

During an initial consultation, Dr Manisha will explore and understand her patient’s symptoms and work collaboratively with the patient to tailor care and treatment to her individual needs.

What happens after your initial appointment with our menopause expert

Personalised treatment plan

During your 45-minute consultation, you and your doctor or nurse will agree the treatment plan that is best for you, we donʼt believe that menopause care is one size-fits-all. The doctor or nurse will then write up your personalised treatment plan and send it to you after the appointment.

A prescription

If we recommend medication as part of your treatment plan:

  • You can request that your prescription be handled by our private pharmacy partner (a pharmacy service that delivers straight to your door). They will send a text message on the same day the prescription has been issued to arrange payment. Once payment has been received, they will post your medication directly to you.
  • You can return to your NHS doctor with any treatment plans provided by My Menopause Centre and request a NHS prescription.

Costs for medicines are not covered by AllBright.

Blood tests

If a blood test is recommended by your doctor, this will be taken care of by Medichecks. During your appointment, you and your practitioner will discuss whether you’d like the blood test to be:

  • Self-administered at home
  • Administered by a nurse at home
  • Administered by a nurse at a Medichecks clinic

Once payment has been received for the blood test, Medichecks will be in touch with you directly to make the arrangements.

Costs for blood tests are not covered by AllBright.

Follow-up consultation

We recommend a three-month follow-up after your initial consultation and at least annually thereafter (you can, of course, always come back sooner if you like). This is so your doctor or nurse can review your progress and symptoms with you, and make any necessary adjustments to your plan. Our follow-up consultations last 25 minutes.

Costs for follow-up appointments are not covered by AllBright.
